The College of Life Sciences and Agriculture offers programs that are recognized to be at the leading edge of worldwide developments in agriculture and science. Our academic departments include Animal and Nutritional Sciences, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Natural Resources, Plant Biology, Resource Economics and Development, and Zoology. To support its academic programs and research, the College maintains farms, greenhouses, and several hundred acres of forests and other natural areas.

All departments offer undergraduate instruction leading to a Bachelor of Science degree. Students also can earn a Bachelor of Science in Forestry degree or a Bachelor of Arts degree in Plant Biology or Zoology. In addition, the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture offers 17 Master of Science Degrees and 7 Doctor of Philosophy Degrees.

College of Life Sciences and Agriculture faculty have appointments that require them to teach, to conduct research, and/or to participate in outreach programs. There is a close bond between faculty, undergraduates, and graduate students. Consequently there are numerous opportunities for students to become directly involved in field experiences, internships, and laboratory work. These experiences enhance and broaden the undergraduate and graduate student experience.
