Research
The New Hampshire Agricultural Experiment Station is one of the largest research and service units at the University. It is responsible for all research in the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture. This research is funded jointly by the State of New Hampshire and the US Department of Agriculture through their Hatch, Regional Research, MacIntire-Stennis, and Animal Health programs, as well as grants from other Federal and private agencies.
Scientists associated with the Agricultural Experiment Station carry out research to solve important problems affecting agriculture, forestry, the social end economic well-being of the people of New Hampshire, the region, and the nation, and to add to the store of knowledge related to these problems. Projects are designed to optimize a blend of applied and basic research related to agriculture, forestry, and the improvement of the quality of life for rural communities.
