Procedure for Change of Major/Change of College

Procedure for Transferring Within the College:

The student must obtain a Change of Program form from the Dean's Office or the department in which he/she is currently majoring. Once the student has completed his/her portion of the application he/she must complete the following process:

  1. Discuss intended change with advising coordinator of the new department and present advisor.

  2. Obtain advisor's signature and pick up advisor's records from advisor or department secretary.

  3. Take advisor's records and Change of Program form to the department in which the student wishes to declare his/her new major. Have the form signed by the new advisor and leave the records there.

  4. Return the Change of Program form to the Dean's Office for completion of the process.

Procedure for Change of College:

The student must obtain a Change of Program form from the Dean's Office or the department in which he/she is currently majoring.

  1. Discuss intended change with advising coordinator of the new departmentand present advisor.

  2. Obtain advisor's signature and pick up advisor's records from advisor or department secretary.

  3. Take advisor's records and Change of Program form to the LS&A Dean's Office for signature.

  4. Students transferring to WSBE must bring the Change of Program form and advisor's records to the WSBE Advising Center. Students transferring to E&PS, LA, or HHS must bring the Change of Program form and advisor's records to their new department of the appropriate college.

  5. Students transferring into LS&A must bring the Change of Program form (already signed by advisor or Advising Center and college dean), and advisor's records to their new department for a signature. If accepted, the records will stay with the new advisor and the Change of Program form is then brought to the LS&A Dean's Office for the final signature.

  6. TSAS students must apply for admission to a four-year program through the Office of Admissions.
